Governors Seek Presidential Action on Border

The migrant crisis is becoming a bipartisan issue.

A joint letter signed by governors of 25 states addressed to President Biden requests that action be taken at the U.S.-Mexico border. “States are on the front lines, working around the clock responding to the effects of this crisis: Shelters are full, food pantries empty, law enforcement strained and aid workers exhausted,” the letter said.

Governor Maura Healey of Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency, describing the situation as a “federal crisis of inaction.”

The massive influx of migrants has become a bipartisan issue being felt not only by states but also by cities. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said, “This is not a New York City problem. This is a national problem. [Funding for the influx of migrants is going to come] from our schools’ services. It’s going to come from our streets. It’s going to come from what we provide to children.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his national security advisors as they consider the results of current immigration policies.
  • For the governors and mayors that are struggling to deal with the numbers of migrants in their regions.
